I wish to express my solidarity with the Huaren of this world, I am a member of the
Maritime Union of Australia, my union has a proud history of fighting for the rights
of all people regardless of their nationality, color, religion or class and has been
active for nearly a century in educating their members as to the evils of racism.
I personally have found that when I've tried to cast off the bias that I was bought up
with (I'm a 4th generation Anglo-Australian) and got to know people as people that
we have a lot more in common than anyone could ever have guessed.
The mixing of cultures is an extremely interesting and rewarding experience and the
ignorant are really missing out in a big way.
